We seek the craftsman that knows and appreciates the art of the cocktail. This individual is knowledgeable about mixology and is capable of mixing traditional drinks as well as crafting creative libations. They increase customer retention and loyalty by mixing and serving quality cocktails with impeccable customer service and a smiling face.
Requested Tasks
- Welcome customers, read and listen to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders
- Plan drink menus and inform customers about new beverage and specials
- Greet guests warmly; read and listen to people to determine beverage preferences; assist with recommendations as needed
- Establish proper proportions and ingredient controls to ensure consistent product to guests
- Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages to customers
- Prepare beverages requested by guests; maintain a thorough understanding of trending and classic cocktails (alcoholic and non-alcoholic)
- Be aware of any allergens at the table and have the knowledge to pivot
- Make recommendations and explain the concept of the restaurant and the culinary experience
- Provide high-quality service to help maintain and attract customers and promote return visits
- Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations; knowing if the kitchen is running out of any items, etc
- Take inventory and order supplies to ensure bar is well stocked
- Follow alcohol service laws; check identification to ensure customers are the legal age to consume alcohol
- Prioritize health and safety standards; maintain a clean bar surface, equipment and bar area
- Reconcile bar’s register(s) at the end of shifts
- Adhere to Makeready's Guiding Principles
- Additional duties and assignments as assigned
Requested Capabilities
- Prior background in making alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; full understanding of alcohol serving laws
- Understanding of basic cocktail recipes; extensive knowledge of specialty cocktails
- Approachable and professional personality
- Able to read driver’s licenses/personal documentation to confirm legal age for consuming alcohol
- Able to measure and pour drinks
- Able to open wine bottles and champagne bottles
- Certified to serve alcohol
- Required to stand; walk; use hands to serve and clear food, beverages, plates/cutlery/glassware, additional objects
- Able to bend and kneel to clear tables, serve food, etc.
- Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Adhere to Makeready & property policies and procedures as defined
