Job description
- Manage vehicle maintenance schedules and repairs to ensure all vehicles are safe, reliable, and compliant with regulations.
- Oversee maintenance staff, including mechanics and technicians, and ensure proper training and scheduling of work.
- Develop and maintain budgets for vehicle maintenance and repairs, and ensure costs are kept within budget limits.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and expenses, and report on these to senior management.
- Identify and implement improvements to vehicle maintenance processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, including the use of personal protective equipment, safe handling of hazardous materials, and adherence to safety procedures.
- Ensure all vehicles are properly licensed, registered, and insured, and that appropriate documentation is kept up to date.
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate with other departments or outside vendors to arrange for the purchase, leasing, or disposal of vehicles.
- Maintain professional relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other industry professionals to stay up to date on latest technology, techniques, and trends.
