Maintenance Manager
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and reliability of all machinery, equipment, and utilities at the manufacturing facility. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, maintaining production efficiency, and ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory standards in an organic food processing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant & Equipment Maintenance:
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all production machinery and plant utilities.
- Ensure smooth functioning of processing, packaging, and material handling equipment.
- Maintain and update maintenance schedules and records.
Breakdown & Troubleshooting
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Utilities Management
- Manage plant utilities including boilers, compressors, generators, refrigeration systems, water systems, and electrical infrastructure.
- Ensure uninterrupted utility supply to support production operations.
Team Supervision
- Lead and supervise maintenance technicians, electricians, and mechanical staff.
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to maintenance procedures.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards including FSSAI, GMP, and HACCP requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities and safety procedures.
Cost & Spare Management
- Monitor maintenance expenses and optimize operational costs.
- Maintain inventory of critical spare parts and coordinate with procurement for timely availability.
Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with production teams to improve equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Implement initiatives to enhance reliability and operational efficiency of machines.
Qualifications
- B. E / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Experience
- 6-10 years of experience in maintenance within food processing, FMCG, or manufacturing plants.
- Experience handling food processing machinery and packaging lines is preferred.
