Job Title: Maintenance Incharge – Hydroponic & Climate-Controlled Farms
Department: Growing Operations and Maintenance
Location: Kota Office
Job Purpose:
To ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of all farm infrastructure, including hydroponic systems,
irrigation, fertigation, electrical, mechanical, and climate-control equipment. The Maintenance Incharge
oversees preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime, ensure equipment reliability,
optimize operational costs, and support continuous production of high-quality vegetables.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
• Prepare and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for climate control systems, irrigation and
fertigation units, polyhouse structures, electrical systems, and water infrastructure.
• Attend to breakdowns promptly and coordinate with farm teams to restore operations.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure critical spares are always available.
2. Infrastructure & Equipment Monitoring
• Conduct routine inspection rounds for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Ensure calibration and accuracy of sensors (temperature, humidity, COn, EC, pH).
• Monitor and record performance of pumps, motors, and power systems.
• Ensure zero leakage and proper functioning of irrigation lines and valves.
3. Coordination & Documentation
• Coordinate with agronomy and production teams for maintenance planning and downtime scheduling.
• Maintain detailed logs, work orders, inspection reports, and spare part usage records.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly maintenance reports and performance summaries.
• Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all maintenance tasks.
4. Safety & Compliance
• Ensure all electrical and mechanical works comply with safety standards and statutory regulations.
• Conduct safety drills and train staff on safe equipment handling.
• Perform regular audits of fire-fighting systems, electrical panels, and structural components.
• Support ISO, TPM, or internal audits related to maintenance and safety compliance.
5. Team Management
• Supervise maintenance technicians, electricians, plumbers, and helpers.
• Plan daily task allocation and monitor completion and quality of work.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and skills training to maintenance staff.
• Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
6. Budgeting & Cost Control
• Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, including spare parts, consumables, and equipment
servicing costs.
• Track monthly expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising reliability.
• Participate in vendor negotiations for maintenance contracts and spare procurements.
• Monitor preventive maintenance cost vs. breakdown cost ratio and report trends to management.

Qualification & Experience:
• Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Agricultural Engineering.
• 3–7 years in maintenance (preferably in greenhouse, hydroponics, or food/agro processing).
• Knowledge of greenhouse automation, hydroponic irrigation and fertigation systems, electrical & plumbing
systems, and basic PLC or sensor-based control systems.
Skills Required:
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical ability.
• Preventive maintenance planning and execution.
• Electrical and mechanical system knowledge.
• Maintenance cost estimation and annual budgeting.
• Documentation, reporting, and spare management.
• Team leadership and coordination.
• Basic understanding of hydroponic and protected cultivation systems.
Additional Desirable Skills:
• Familiarity with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management
Systems).
• Experience with greenhouse automation platforms (e.g., Priva, Netafim, AutoGrow).
• Knowledge of sustainability practices (energy, water optimization, waste reduction).
