Company Description DAV SM Fomra school located in Thaiyur village near Kelambakkam on Old Mahabalipuram Road (IT Highway), about 35 km from Chennai, spread across a 5-acre campus. Established in 2022 is a CBSE school founded by MK Fomra charitable Trust and managed by DAV group of School Chennai.
Role Description The Maintenance and Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and maintenance of civil infrastructure and facilities across the campus. This includes monitoring and maintaining buildings, roads, drainage, utilities, and related structures to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with applicable standards. The role involves coordinating with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders for repairs, renovations, and new civil works, as well as preparing estimates, schedules, and reports. The engineer will conduct regular site inspections, identify maintenance needs, and implement preventive maintenance plans for civil and related services. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Thaiyur, Chennai, requiring close interaction with administrative, academic, and support teams to ensure uninterrupted campus operations.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design, with the ability to apply engineering principles to campus infrastructure projects.
- Experience working as part of Civil Engineering teams or as Civil Engineers, overseeing site activities, quality control, and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Planning civil works, maintenance schedules, and project timelines, including resource and cost estimation.
- Knowledge of Stormwater Management and campus drainage systems, including design, maintenance, and compliance with local regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, technical specifications, and maintenance manuals; experience with basic civil engineering software is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with academic and administrative staff.
- Prior experience in facilities management, institutional or campus infrastructure, or educational institutions is an added advantage.
