About The Role
We are seeking a Maintenance Engineering Specialist to join our Maintenance Solution Department (MSD) under the umbrella of Global Manufacturing Excellence. The primary focus of this role is to provide specialized technical support and strategic guidance to our global manufacturing facilities, ensuring optimal maintenance practices and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing maintenance programs, processes, and procedures that align with corporate standards and industry best practices. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence maintenance strategies on a global scale, contributing to Aramco’s commitment to operational excellence and sustainability. The Maintenance Engineering Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and operations, to deliver innovative solutions that enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance costs. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a deep understanding of maintenance management systems, and the ability to analyze complex data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized and accredited program, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience within the Oil & Gas downstream sector is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a high level of technical competence in maintenance programs, practices, and strategies, including risk-based approaches such as Reliability-Centered Maintenance and Risk-Based Maintenance. Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies and hands-on expertise in spare parts and materials procurement strategies are required. Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, and work prioritization, coupled with experience in budgeting and expenditure control, is vital. Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), particularly SAP, is also necessary. The candidate must exhibit excellent analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine maintenance processes and strategies, including preventive and predictive maintenance programs, to ensure alignment with corporate and operational standards. Conduct comprehensive maintenance health assessments and prepare detailed reports on process effectiveness.
- Perform data-driven benchmarking analyses to evaluate maintenance organization performance, identify gaps, and formulate sustainable improvement plans. This includes analyzing maintenance effectiveness, operating costs, manpower utilization, and asset performance metrics.
- Establish maintenance performance baselines by analyzing facilities’ maintenance data and generate regular benchmarking reports to foster knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Review and enhance maintenance reporting mechanisms and key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing trends to drive performance improvements and operational excellence.
- Analyze maintenance spending across manpower, equipment, materials procurement, and outsourcing strategies to optimize resource allocation and cost efficiency.
- Support the implementation of approved maintenance programs such as TPRM or GM reliability models within line maintenance organizations, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Design and develop innovative methods and programs for handling new maintenance challenges involving equipment such as pumps, motors, compressors, turbines, valves, and instrumentation systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and vendors to design alternative parts or systems, ensuring reliability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with safety standards.
- Represent the Maintenance Solution Department on various committees, task forces, or ad hoc groups to promote best practices and share technical expertise.
- Identify and recommend work that can be economically outsourced, developing scopes of work and managing contractor relationships to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
