Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of Mainframe-based applications using COBOL and related Mainframe utilities.
- Analyze business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and propose scalable Mainframe solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
- Perform impact analysis, code changes, unit testing, and support system/integration testing for enhancements and defect fixes.
- Optimize existing COBOL programs and Mainframe jobs for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production releases, incident resolution, and root cause analysis for critical issues.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and compliance requirements within the Mainframe environment.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, job flows, and support guides.
- Mentor junior team members, provide code reviews, and share Mainframe best practices to uplift overall team capability.
- Participate in planning, estimation, and status reporting for Mainframe development and support activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, process optimization, and technical upgrades in the Mainframe landscape.
- Knowledge of more than one technology

- Understanding of Project life cycle activities on development and maintenance projects
- Understanding of one or more Estimation methodologies, Knowledge of Quality processes

- Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of software quality assurance principles, SOLID design principles and modelling methods
