Role Description The Mainframe Production Support Analyst is a full-time role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, structured as a hybrid position with a combination of on-site and work-from-home arrangements. The analyst will monitor mainframe production environments, respond to incidents, troubleshoot system and batch job issues, and ensure timely resolution to minimize business impact. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing job failures, coordinating with development and infrastructure teams, performing root cause analysis, and documenting fixes and workarounds. The role also involves executing scheduled jobs, validating deployments, maintaining operational runbooks, and adhering to change management and incident management processes. The analyst will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, provide regular status updates, and suggest process improvements to enhance stability, performance, and reliability of mainframe applications and services.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong mainframe operations and support skills, including experience with batch job monitoring, incident handling, and production issue resolution.
- Candidates should possess core technical skills relevant to mainframe environments, such as familiarity with mainframe job scheduling tools, performance monitoring, and log analysis.
- Candidates should possess problem-solving and analytical skills to perform root cause analysis, interpret system alerts, and recommend preventive measures.
- Candidates should possess communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams, document procedures clearly, and provide concise incident reports.
- Candidates should possess time management and organizational skills to handle multiple incidents, prioritize tasks effectively, and work within structured change and release processes.
- Beneficial qualifications include experience in IT production support or operations, exposure to enterprise financial or telecom systems, and understanding of ITIL-based service management practices.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in mainframe support, is preferred.
