Job Title: Mainframe – Distributed MQ / SCM Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Mainframe – Distributed MQ / SCM Engineer to manage and support enterprise messaging infrastructure and source code management systems. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in IBM MQ (WebSphere MQ) across mainframe and distributed environments, along with hands-on experience in SCM tools and release management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support IBM MQ (WebSphere MQ) in both mainframe (z/OS) and distributed platforms
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MQ environments
- Monitor MQ queues, channels, and performance; troubleshoot issues
- Perform queue manager setup, clustering, and security configurations
- Handle incident, problem, and change management in production environments
- Work with application teams for message flow, integration, and troubleshooting
- Manage SCM tools (Endevor, Changeman, Git, etc.) for code versioning and deployments
- Support release management and deployment activities
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and system stability
- Document processes, runbooks, and system configurations
Required Skills (Must-Have)
- Strong experience in IBM MQ (WebSphere MQ)
- Hands-on experience in Mainframe (z/OS) environment
- Knowledge of Distributed systems (Linux/Unix/Windows)
- Experience with SCM tools (Endevor / Changeman / Git)
- Understanding of JCL, TSO, ISPF
- Experience in MQ clustering, channel configuration, and queue management
- Good troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Experience in production support (L2/L3 support)
