Description

 As a member of New England’s largest and most trusted hot tub, swim spa, and sauna retailer, the In-House Repair & Refurbishment Technician helps uphold the exceptional quality Mainely Tubs is known for. This role is responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, completing thorough testing, and refurbishing units so that every product—new or pre-owned—meets our rigorous standards for safety, performance, and appearance. Working closely with our Service, Delivery, and Sales Teams, this position supports our commitment to outstanding post-sale care while preparing pre-owned inventory for resale through Mainely Tubs’  highly regarded Trade-In & Upgrade programs. 


  

Key Responsibilities:

· Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hot tubs, swim spas, and saunas in the in-house service area.

· Review testing, and quality assurance checks on products prior to delivery or after repair.

· Perform full refurbishments on pre-owned units, including disassembly, cleaning, part replacement, cosmetic restoration, and testing to ensure like-new condition.

· Replace or repair components such as pumps, heaters, jets, control systems, plumbing, and electrical elements.

· Evaluate the condition of trade-in or used units to determine refurbishment scope and parts needs.

· Maintain accurate records of all repairs, refurbishments, parts used, and labor hours.

· Test and balance water chemistry for all units undergoing service or refurbishment.

· Coordinate with the Service Manager to prioritize repairs and refurbishment projects to meet deadlines.

· Keep the in-house service area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.

· Assist with product setup, staging, and testing for showroom displays or customer deliveries as needed.

· Communicate effectively with team members regarding progress, issues, and product readiness.

· Support warranty and non-warranty repair documentation and processing.

Requirements

 Education & Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Prior experience in repair, maintenance, or technical service—preferably in hot tubs, pools, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems.

· Experience with product refurbishment or restoration a strong plus.

· Technical training or certifications in related fields preferred.


  Skills & Abilities:

· Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

· Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and repair documentation.

· Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

· Team-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

· Comfortable working with tools, electrical systems, and water-based products.


  Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs. with assistance.

· Frequent bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods.

· Comfortable working in warehouse or workshop environments with variable temperatures.
