We’re hiring a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to support safe, accurate, and timely medication distribution within our inpatient and outpatient pharmacy settings. This role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality patient care by assisting pharmacists, maintaining inventory, and supporting daily pharmacy operations. As a vital member of our pharmacy team, you’ll help keep medication workflows efficient and compliant.
What You’ll Do
Medication Preparation & Distribution
• Prepare and distribute medications accurately to support patient care • Fill patient-specific medications, floor stock, and automated dispensing cabinets • Compound sterile IV solutions following USP <797> standards • Process outpatient prescriptions and support point-of-sale workflows
Inventory Management & Supply Operations
• Maintain medication inventory and monitor drug shortages • Process orders using Sentry and Amerisource Passport • Complete unit inspections, outdates, and storage compliance tasks • Support narcotic handling, documentation, and delivery in accordance with regulations
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
• Communicate effectively with nursing, clinical teams, and other departments • Respond to phone and in-person requests with professionalism • Relay issues requiring pharmacist attention promptly • Participate in departmental and hospital committees as needed
Systems & Administration (Cerner, Retail Pharmacy Software, Compliance)
• Utilize Cerner and retail pharmacy systems efficiently • Document required logs, inspections, and temperature/humidity checks • Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect confidential patient information • Support Joint Commission and regulatory readiness activities
