<div>Mad Science of St. Louis is looking for a reliable, organized, and enthusiastic person to join our team in a unique part-time role that combines office support with occasional after-school teaching.<br><br>
</div><div>This is a year-round, part-time position, generally <strong>Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.</strong> The role is primarily office-based, but the right candidate must also be comfortable teaching hands-on science and art enrichment classes to elementary-age children when needed.<br><br>
</div><div><strong>About the Role</strong></div><div>This position is a little bit of everything. You will help support the daily operations of our office while also serving as an as-needed after-school instructor for both Mad Science and Imagine Arts Academy programs.<br><br>
</div><div>Office responsibilities may include:<br><br>
</div><ul>
<li>Answering phones and communicating professionally with parents, schools, instructors, and customers </li>
<li>Responding to emails and assisting with customer service </li>
<li>Processing paperwork and helping with office projects </li>
<li>Supporting operations and program logistics </li>
<li>Assisting with equipment packing and preparation as needed </li>
<li>Helping wherever needed to support the office as a whole </li>
</ul><div>Teaching responsibilities may include:<br><br>
</div><ul>
<li>Leading science and art classes for elementary-age students </li>
<li>Following the provided lesson plans and curriculum </li>
<li>Helping create a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment for children </li>
<li>Representing our programs professionally at local schools </li>
</ul><div>All class lessons, materials, training, and curriculum are provided.<br><br>
</div><div><strong>Ideal Candidate</strong></div><div>The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, organized, and comfortable switching between different types of tasks throughout the afternoon. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys variety, likes working with children, and is looking to build both office and instructional experience.<br><br>
</div><div>Candidates should have:<br><br>
</div><ul>
<li>Strong communication skills, especially by phone and email </li>
<li>Experience working with groups of children in an instructional setting </li>
<li>Comfort teaching both science and art activities using the provided lesson plans </li>
<li>Good organizational skills and attention to detail </li>
<li>Ability to multitask and shift between office, customer service, operations, and teaching responsibilities </li>
<li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office </li>
<li>A team-player attitude and willingness to help wherever needed </li>
<li>Access to a reliable automobile every day</li>
<li>Ability to occasionally lift equipment up to 30 lbs. </li>
