Role Description The Machine Operator is a full-time, on-site role based at BigB DryCleaners’ facility in Bhubaneswar. This role is responsible for operating commercial laundry and dry-cleaning machines, including washers, dryers, pressing equipment, and related systems, in accordance with safety and operational guidelines. Daily tasks include loading and unloading linens and garments, selecting appropriate programs, monitoring machine performance, and performing basic adjustments and routine cleaning. The Machine Operator checks items for quality before and after processing, reports any issues with machinery or output, and collaborates with team members to maintain workflow and meet production targets. The role also involves following hygiene protocols, maintaining an organized work area, and supporting preventive maintenance activities under supervision.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate and monitor industrial machines, with skills in Machine Operation and familiarity with Machinery used in laundry and dry-cleaning processes.
- Competence in Quality Control, including inspecting linens and garments for cleanliness, damage, and adherence to client standards.
- Practical experience using Hand Tools for minor adjustments, basic maintenance, and safe handling of equipment components.
- Strong Communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and coworkers, report issues, and follow written and verbal instructions clearly.
- Basic technical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to follow safety and hygiene procedures consistently.
- Prior experience in a laundry, textile, manufacturing, or hospitality support environment is an advantage.
- Willingness to work in shifts, stand for extended periods, and handle moderate physical tasks such as lifting and moving laundry loads.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; on-the-job training will be provided for suitable candidates.
