Company Description
Omli is building next-generation voice AI systems designed specifically for children.
Children speak very differently from adults — their speech includes evolving vocabulary, partial pronunciations, inconsistent grammar, and unpredictable conversational flows. Traditional voice assistants struggle in this environment.
At Omli, we are solving problems at the intersection of:
- Speech Recognition for Children
- Conversational AI
- Speech-to-Speech Systems
- LLM Training & Fine-tuning
- Real-time AI Systems
Our goal is to build low-latency conversational AI that can naturally understand and interact with children.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Gurugram for a Machine Learning Engineer. The Machine Learning Engineer will design, implement, and optimise machine learning models, with a focus on advanced natural language processing and pattern recognition techniques. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing algorithms to enhance AI performance, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate educational goals into technical implementations, and ensuring adherence to ethical AI principles and data safety protocols.
You will work on:
- Improving speech recognition accuracy for children
- Fine-tuning large language models for conversational intelligence
- Designing evaluation frameworks for conversational quality
- Developing datasets and training pipelines for speech models
- Optimizing latency and quality in speech-to-speech systems
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Pattern Recognition and Neural Networks
- Familiarity and experience of fine-tuning LLM / STT models.
- Expertise in Computer Science and proficiency in designing and implementing Algorithms
- Solid foundation in Statistics and the ability to analyze complex data sets
- Background in machine learning model development and optimization with demonstrated problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for machine learning such as Python, R, or similar
