About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Machine Learning / Computer Vision Engineer to join our dedicated team. This role is pivotal in leading the design, development, and optimization of AI systems that power our innovative products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in machine learning and computer vision, with a proven track record of deploying production-grade AI solutions. As a hands-on individual contributor, you will take end-to-end ownership of machine learning workflows, including data strategy, model architecture, experimentation, evaluation, and deployment pipelines. Reporting directly to the CTO/CPO, who has extensive ML expertise, you will be expected to independently drive key technical decisions and contribute to the strategic direction of our AI initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-impact projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a blend of technical expertise, practical experience, and innovative thinking. Candidates should have a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision, particularly in developing and deploying AI models in production environments. Proficiency in Python and popular AI frameworks such as PyTorch is essential, along with a solid understanding of CNN architectures like ResNet, EfficientNet, or similar. Experience with building scalable computer vision systems, data pipelines, preprocessing, augmentation, and validation is required. Knowledge of statistical analysis, model evaluation, and optimization techniques is vital. Familiarity with multi-output learning, ordinal classification, and uncertainty quantification will be advantageous. Candidates should also demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, a self-driven approach to experimentation, and the ability to work efficiently within Agile teams. Additional preferred skills include experience in medical imaging, healthcare AI, model optimization for on-device deployment, and familiarity with regulated software standards.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage comprehensive machine learning and computer vision pipelines, from raw data processing to final deployment.
- Design, develop, and refine scalable deep learning models tailored to project requirements.
- Establish evaluation protocols, define model architectures, and develop technical strategies to ensure optimal performance.
- Create and maintain reproducible MLOps workflows, including experiment tracking, version control, and continuous integration.
- Analyze model performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to increase accuracy, scalability, and inference efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data engineers, and software developers, to validate and optimize AI solutions.
- Mentor junior ML engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Work within an Agile development environment, taking ownership of deliverables and adhering to project timelines.
- Identify potential technical risks early, communicate blockers proactively, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, adhere to engineering standards, and promote best practices in development processes.
