About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machine Learning Engineering Lead to join our dynamic team in Thane, Mumbai. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for professionals with a strong background in machine learning, natural language processing, and AI ethics to spearhead the development of advanced evaluation pipelines and responsible AI frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing scalable ML solutions, implementing robust evaluation methodologies, and leading small teams to achieve strategic objectives. As a key member of our technical leadership, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to innovate and ensure the deployment of secure, ethical, and high-performing AI systems.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in machine learning engineering, with specific expertise in NLP and evaluation pipeline development. A strong foundation in Python programming and hands-on experience with cloud services such as AWS are essential. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with LLM evaluation techniques, AI ethics frameworks, and responsible AI practices. Additional preferred qualifications include experience with multi-tenant evaluation platforms, AI safety research, and leadership in small teams. A background in regulated sectors or government compliance, along with published work or presentations in AI safety or Responsible AI, will be considered advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain machine learning and NLP evaluation pipelines using Python, ensuring robustness and scalability.
- Implement evaluation techniques for large language models, including LLM-as-judge, semantic similarity assessments, embedding search, and red-team dataset curation.
- Create abstraction layers to manage heterogeneous data sources, accommodating various APIs, data formats, and completeness levels.
- Conduct adversarial robustness testing for LLMs, including prompt injection, jailbreaking, and information extraction scenarios.
- Leverage AWS services such as ECS/Fargate, S3, RDS, SQS, and CloudWatch to deploy and monitor AI solutions effectively.
- Integrate AI ethics, fairness, and bias metrics into evaluation workflows, ensuring responsible AI deployment.
- Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines with integrated security measures, including SAST and dependency scanning.
- Participate in vetting processes and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards such as BPSS or equivalent.
- Contribute to the development and adoption of Responsible AI and AI governance frameworks aligned with industry standards like NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, and EU AI Act.
- Maintain observability platforms for LLMs, such as Langfuse or LangSmith, to monitor performance and safety metrics.
- Lead and mentor a small team of ML engineers, fostering a collaborative environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement.
- Engage with the wider AI community through publications, presentations, or participation in industry forums related to AI safety and responsible AI measurement.
