About The Role
We are seeking experienced Machine Learning Engineers (MLE Bench) to join our dynamic team and contribute to benchmark-driven evaluation projects focused on real-world machine learning systems. This role involves direct engagement with production-grade ML codebases, model training, evaluation pipelines, and deployment workflows. The primary objective is to assess and enhance the capabilities of cutting-edge AI systems through rigorous benchmarking and evaluation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of research insight and engineering proficiency, comfortable working with models, data, and infrastructure within complex ML environments.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should have at least 3+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Software Engineer with a focus on ML. Proficiency in Python is essential, particularly for developing and managing ML workflows. Hands-on experience with model training, evaluation, and inference pipelines is required. A solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including supervised and unsupervised learning, evaluation metrics, and optimization techniques, is necessary. Familiarity with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX is highly desirable. The candidate must be adept at navigating and modifying complex, real-world ML codebases and capable of writing clean, reusable, and maintainable production-quality code. Strong problem-solving, debugging skills, and excellent communication abilities in English are also essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Work with real-world ML codebases to support Machine Learning Evaluation (MLE Bench) tasks, ensuring rigorous and reproducible benchmarking standards.
- Build, run, and optimize model training, evaluation, and inference pipelines to support ongoing research and deployment needs.
- Prepare datasets, features, and metrics tailored for benchmarking and validation of ML models.
- Debug, refactor, and enhance production-like ML systems to improve correctness, efficiency, and scalability.
- Evaluate model behavior, identify failure modes, and analyze edge cases relevant to benchmark tasks to inform system improvements.
- Develop and maintain clean, well-documented Python code for ML workflows, ensuring reproducibility and clarity.
- Participate actively in code reviews to uphold high engineering standards and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with researchers and engineers to design challenging, real-world ML tasks for comprehensive AI system evaluation.
