About The Role
As a Software Engineer at Qualcomm, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and validating embedded and cloud-edge software solutions that drive innovation across various platforms. Your expertise will contribute to creating world-class products that meet and exceed customer expectations. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including systems, hardware, architecture, and test engineers, to develop system-level software solutions aligned with performance and interface requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on advanced AI and GenAI models, leveraging Qualcomm's heterogeneous computing capabilities to enable on-device inference of large language and vision models at unprecedented speeds and power efficiency.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 4 years of relevant experience in software engineering. A Master's degree with 3+ years or a PhD with 2+ years of experience are also acceptable. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python is essential. Candidates should have a solid understanding of Generative AI models, including LLMs, LVMs, and their building blocks, as well as experience with hardware acceleration techniques and optimization for AI hardware like CPUs, GPUs, or NPUs. Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills are required to succeed in this role, along with the ability to work effectively in a globally diverse team environment.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead the development and deployment of the Qualcomm AI Runtime (QAIRT) SDK on Qualcomm System on Chips (SoCs). Your primary responsibility will be to optimize large AI models, including LLMs and LVMs, for edge deployment, ensuring high performance and efficiency. You will utilize your expertise in C/C++ programming and best practices to develop scalable software stacks. Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in GenAI, transformer architectures, and edge AI deployment techniques will be crucial. You will also collaborate with hardware and system teams to integrate and validate AI solutions, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and contribute to innovative features that enhance Qualcomm’s AI offerings.
