Role Description
This is an internship role for a Machine Learning Engineer at our Chennai office. As an on-site team member, you will develop, implement, and optimize machine learning models to address challenges in energy management and efficiency. Your responsibilities will include applying advanced algorithms, analyzing datasets, and contributing to the integration of intelligent systems in our projects. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will also be integral to driving data-driven insights and sustainability solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy machine learning models for:
- Energy consumption forecasting
- Demand response optimization
- Fault detection and diagnostics (FDD)
- Renewable energy prediction (solar/wind)
- Build AI-driven optimization engines for:
- Load shifting and peak shaving
- Energy cost minimization
- Carbon footprint reduction
- Work with real-time and historical data from:
- Smart meters
- IoT devices
- BMS/EMS systems
- Design and implement data pipelines for preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training
- Integrate ML models into production systems and APIs for the Elements Energy platform
Collaborate with:
- Energy analysts for domain insights
- Hardware/IoT teams for data acquisition
- Software teams for deployment and scaling
- Continuously monitor, evaluate, and improve model performance
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Computer Science / AI / Data Science / Electrical Engineering / Energy Systems
- Machine Learning (supervised & unsupervised learning)
- Time-series forecasting (critical)
- Optimization techniques
- Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn)
- ML frameworks (TensorFlow / PyTorch)
- SQL and data handling
- Time-series data (energy data preferred)
- Model deployment (APIs, cloud platforms)
- Version control (Git)
