With a focus on cutting-edge research and practical implementation, Spectral Consultants partners with clients across various industries to transform their digital landscape. Our team comprises industry experts committed to delivering scalable, efficient, and responsible AI systems that drive business growth and operational excellence. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning, innovation, and excellence in every project.
About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic team at Spectral Consultants. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing and deploying large language models (LLMs) and AI applications that have a significant impact on our clients' operations. You will be responsible for managing the entire ML lifecycle, from data preparation and model training to deployment and monitoring. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies on scalable cloud platforms like AWS, contributing to innovative projects that shape the future of AI-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, a passion for AI, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- 5-7 years of professional experience in software engineering or data science, with at least 3 years focused on production-level machine learning systems.
- Minimum of 1 year hands-on experience working with large language models, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and fine-tuning techniques.
- Strong proficiency with AWS cloud services such as SageMaker, Bedrock, Lambda, EKS/ECS, and related tools.
- Expertise in Python, PyTorch, Hugging Face libraries, and vector databases for similarity search and retrieval tasks.
- Solid understanding of MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, model tracking, and governance frameworks.
- Experience in data engineering tasks such as ETL processes, Spark or Flink for large-scale data processing.
Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with distributed training, reinforcement learning with human feedback (RLHF), inference hardware like Inferentia or Trainium, and domain expertise in areas such as asset management or sustainability. Additionally, familiarity with ML security, compliance standards, and responsible AI practices will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Building advanced LLM applications, including retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, agent development, guardrails, and evaluation frameworks.
- Owning the entire ML lifecycle—from data collection, training (using techniques like LoRA/QLoRA), deployment, to continuous monitoring and optimization.
- Deploying scalable solutions on AWS cloud infrastructure, utilizing services such as EKS, ECS, Lambda, SageMaker, and Bedrock to ensure high availability and performance.
- Optimizing training and inference processes by leveraging techniques like Fully Sharded Data Parallel (FSDP), DeepSpeed, vector databases, and GPU acceleration.
- Implementing MLOps best practices, including setting up CI/CD pipelines, model tracking, governance policies, and ensuring responsible AI deployment.
- Collaborating closely with product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful machine learning solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Mentoring team members, sharing best practices, and leading technical decision-making processes to foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Performing exploratory data analysis (EDA) and conducting domain-focused research to inform model development and deployment strategies.
