Description
The material handler will be responsible for efficiently and safely supplying materials to the production line throughout daily operations. Material handlers will be expected to support daily production operations by working on the line as time allows in between replenishment and finished goods transport activities.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures smooth logistics and inventory management, contributing to the overall success of our operations.
- Transports finished goods pallets to appropriate staging locations for final packaging and ultimately deliver to the shipping warehouse.
- Breaks down raw material dunnage and transfer all materials to designated carts, racks, or transfer materials directly on pallets to the final point of use.
- Transports materials to designated locations by use of manual lift, carts, push-racks, pallet jacks.
- Safely physically loads and unloads materials from trucks, pallets, and rack shelves
- Accurately picks, packs, and stages materials for shipment or distribution.
- Maintains accurate records of inventory movements and report any discrepancies or damages.
- Follows all safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.
- Collaborates with warehouse team members and production supervisors to prioritize tasks.
- Adheres to company policies and standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 6 Months of experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
- Previously certified to operate a sit-down forklift and/or extended fork pallet jacks
- SAP, Microsoft Excel and/or other basic computer skills and ability to learn MES software
- Able to perform proper lifting, bending, and stooping techniques as required daily
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in inventory handling
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Knowledge of manufacturing and warehouse safety practices and procedures
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing and walking for up to 12 hours per day.
- Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, and bend on an occasional basis.
- Ability to reach above shoulder and below waist frequently.
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects repetitively on a frequent basis.
