Internship Description We're hiring for a Summer Venture Engineering & Investment Intern—a hybrid role that blends hands-on software engineering with venture capital experience. As an intern, you'll contribute to the development of internal tools and platforms that support our startups and operations, while also playing a meaningful role across the firm—from screening startups to taking founder calls, helping with due diligence, and shaping the future of venture infrastructure. This is an unpaid internship for undergraduate or graduate students. Select interns may receive a full-time offer at LvlUp Ventures post-program. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, intellectually curious, and passionate about startups. The internship runs May–August 2025 (with potential to continue into Fall 2025) and requires a time commitment of 20–40 hours/week. Engineering Responsibilities Contribute to the design and development of internal platforms, dashboards, and tools that support startup workflows and firm operations. Work closely with engineering leadership to ship high-quality features using a modern full-stack stack (e.g. React, Next.js, Node.js, Firebase/Supabase). Participate in architectural planning, code reviews, and product ideation within the technical team. Investment Responsibilities Conduct market research and analysis on startups across a wide range of sectors (AI, Enterprise SaaS, HealthTech, Media, etc.). Join—and eventually lead—startup analysis calls with founders and assist in investment due diligence. Help develop creative sourcing strategies to grow LvlUp's pipeline and startup ecosystem. Assist in day-to-day operations, portfolio company support, and firm-wide strategic initiatives. Basic Qualifications Enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or related fields. Solid experience in full-stack development (through internships, projects, or startups). A demonstrated passion for startups and venture capital. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. A self-starter mindset with high levels of curiosity and energy. Preferred Qualifications Experience building or contributing to live software products or internal tools using modern full-stack technologies such as React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, Supabase, Firebase, or Vercel. Previous success in a VC firm, accelerator, venture studio, or early-stage startup. Familiarity with tools like Apollo, Airtable, Supabase, Webflow, or similar. Understanding of startup trends, fundraising cycles, and emerging technologies.
