Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Fusion Architect / Enterprise Search Engineer with strong experience in designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise search solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Lucidworks Fusion, Apache Solr, and/or Elasticsearch, along with a deep understanding of search architecture, relevance tuning, and large-scale data systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support enterprise search solutions using Lucidworks Fusion, Apache Solr, and Elasticsearch
- Build and optimize query pipelines, index pipelines, and search relevance models
- Perform indexing design, schema configuration, and data ingestion for structured and unstructured data
- Implement advanced search capabilities such as faceted search, filtering, sorting, autocomplete, fuzzy search, and synonym handling
- Tune search relevance and performance to improve search accuracy and user experience
- Develop and maintain custom plugins and extensions for search platforms
- Handle installation, upgrades, migrations, and cluster management of search platforms
- Integrate search solutions with external systems using APIs, microservices, and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka)
- Deploy and manage search solutions in cloud environments (AWS preferred)
- Monitor system performance, conduct health checks, and troubleshoot issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable search solutions
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Search development
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Lucidworks Fusion
- Apache Solr / SolrCloud
- OR Elasticsearch (ELK Stack)
- Solid understanding of:
- Search architecture and design
- Indexing, query processing, and relevance tuning
- Experience working with large-scale datasets and high-volume search systems
- Strong programming skills in Java
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Scala, or Bash
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred – EC2, Beanstalk, etc.)
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and API integrations
Good to Have
- Experience with Spark or big data technologies
- Exposure to machine learning or AI-driven search solutions
- Experience in e-commerce or knowledge management search use cases

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
