The Powertrain E-Motor Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for taking the lead role in designing new Powertrain equipment at Lucid. The Powertrain E-Motor Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with Logistics, Manufacturing Operations, Facilities, Product Engineering, New Product Introduction and other cross-functional teams to ensure Powertrain equipment is properly designed and installed. 

 

You Will: 

  • Demonstrate the ability to lead technical efforts of teams engaged in complex equipment engineering development
  • Develop manufacturing process for motor winding, balancing, assembly and EOL testing lines
  • Prepare and procure all items for station readiness for Powertrain line launches
  • Able to work cross-functionally with all disciplines involved in specifying and engineering Powertrain equipment
  • Work collaboratively with project team on all stages of Powertrain line development from conception to launch
  • Ability to efficiently implement engineering solutions on manufacturing equipment based on product design changes
  • Utilize analytic problem-solving skills, including knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma, DOE or similar certifications/ disciplines
  • Use of 3D modeling and simulations to validate equipment designs
  • Familiarity with equipment control systems, equipment I/Os and basic machine coding logic 
  • Work with layout engineering to prepare and optimize Powertrain line layouts
  • Experience working with the following equipment: robotics, end of arm tooling, pick and place automation, position sensors, material handling, fluid dispensing, deflection analysis, vision systems, conveyor and laser cleaning/ metrology
  • Experience with GD&T, Winding equipment, trickle coating, spinning balancing, DC tools, Dyno testing, DC tools, press equipment.
  • Own end to end E Motor manufacturing line performance, including throughput, yield, uptime, and launch readiness.
  • Drive equipment and process design decisions balancing cost, capacity, manufacturability, scalability, and long term sustainment.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for chronic equipment and process issues impacting safety, quality, delivery, or cost.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and escalation point for Manufacturing Engineers and technicians supporting Powertrain E Motor lines.
  • Review and guide equipment and process designs to ensure best practices, standardization, and reuse across Powertrain programs.
  • Provide technical leadership during equipment buy off, commissioning, and production ramp up.
  • Lead technical engagement with equipment suppliers, including RFQ development, design reviews, FAT/SAT, and final acceptance.
  • Support capital planning and justification for new and modified Powertrain manufacturing equipment.
  • Ensure supplier solutions meet Lucid standards for safety, reliability, maintainability, and automation robustness.
  • Partner with Product Engineering to influence DFM/DFA decisions and manufacturing feasibility early in the design phase.

 

You Bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
  • 5+ years in Powertrain E-Motor Equipment/ Manufacturing/ Process Engineering
  • Experience in the automotive Powertrain E-Motor equipment design/ sustaining is a must
  • Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives in complex environments.
  • Possesses strong presentation skills and communicates clearly and professionally at various levels both inside and outside the company.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Catia and Delmia
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
