Job Description – LS-DYNA Project Engineer
Location: Hyderabad
Experience: 1–2 Years
Education: M.Tech (Mandatory)
Domain: High-Impact Defense & Strategic Engineering Projects
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated LS-DYNA Project Engineer to join our advanced simulation team working on nationally critical defense engineering programs. This role offers hands-on exposure to complex impact, structural dynamics, and high-strain-rate simulations, executed to the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
This position is ideal for early-career engineers who want to build deep expertise in explicit dynamics solver-side execution and work on projects that demand precision, discipline, and strong engineering judgment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently set up and execute LS-DYNA explicit simulations for complex structural and dynamic problems.
- Develop and validate solver-ready models, including material definitions, contacts, boundary conditions, and loading scenarios.
- Work extensively on impact, high-speed, and transient dynamic analyses aligned with defense-grade requirements.
- Interpret solver results with strong focus on energy balance, failure behavior, and physical realism.
- Debug and resolve common LS-DYNA solver issues such as contact instability, hourglass energy, and timestep-related errors.
- Prepare technical simulation reports and support design validation activities.
- Collaborate with senior engineers while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with project protocols.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on knowledge of LS-DYNA Solver (Explicit).
- Good understanding of:
- Explicit dynamics fundamentals
- Time step control & mass scaling
- Material models (elastic, elasto-plastic, strain-rate dependent)
- Contact definitions (surface-to-surface, self-contact, eroding contact)
- Experience with failure, erosion, and damage modeling.
- Proficiency in LS-PrePost for post-processing and result interpretation.
- Solid fundamentals in strength of materials and structural mechanics.
Experience Expectations (1–2 Years)
- Ability to execute complete LS-DYNA simulations with guidance.
- Logical selection of materials and contact definitions based on problem physics.
- Basic capability to troubleshoot solver warnings/errors.
- Understanding of how simulation results correlate with real-world test behavior.
Educational Requirement
- M.Tech in Mechanical / Aerospace / Structural / Automotive or related specialization
- (Mandatory – profiles without M.Tech will not be considered)
