About the role
Summary Objective:The primary objective of this position is to provide leadership and oversight in professional-level information technology systems management and maintenance. Working under general supervision, the incumbent will autonomously develop work methods and sequences. The role encompasses managing and maintaining department records, information systems, and computer applications programming, with a focus on ensuring the seamless functioning of the organization's technology infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Imports or retrieves data from various sources; links, converts or saves data into database, spreadsheet, or graphic format; creates or modifies display screens, queries, macros or SQL scripts to view, produce data output, and analyze trends.
Generates computer reports, charts, tables, maps or graphics for presentations, to summarize or track operations and activities, to produce costs, invoices or financial reports, to issue checks or vouchers, or provide other data output.
Evaluates work flow process, procedures, information systems, and computer application functions, and creates, modifies or enhances computer applications to automate, process, improve efficiency and utilization of computer operations.
Meets with staff to discuss output requirements, report specifications, policies, operating procedures, goals and objectives, and advises staff on solutions to problems.
Contacts vendors or manufacturer's technical support to request service or repair.
Monitors data input to assure quality control, corrects inconsistent use of codes, assists users in modifying database records, and merges records.
Trains users and provides technical assistance to resolve errors or malfunctions.
Upgrades computer or network hardware or software, performs system back-ups, maintains inventory of software, hardware, network addresses, security codes and related equipment.
Researches computer publications to develop programs to meet user requirements and to obtain information on new computer software and technology.
Prepares user or training manuals, narrative or analyzed data, correspondence or forms, and completes special projects.
Performs related work as assigned.
