About the role
The London Police Service is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Communications Operator (Temporary) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for answering emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching police services, and providing support to officers in the field. Key responsibilities include:
- Answering and responding to emergency and non-emergency calls from the public
- Gathering and processing critical information to dispatch the appropriate police resources
- Providing ongoing support and communication to officers in the field
- Maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service
- Adhering to established policies, procedures, and protocols
- Demonstrating strong problem-solving, multitasking, and critical thinking skills
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar communications or dispatch role, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Excellent computer and data entry skills are also required.
