Job details:
Drive structured freight cost optimization by building visibility, benchmarking against market, identifying inefficiencies, and delivering measurable cost savings. The role will provide a monthly cost reduction report with clear savings vs market/benchmark. Strong hands-on experience in truck transportation procurement, planning, and loading optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build end-to-end freight cost visibility (₹/MT, ₹/truck, depot-wise cost vs sales, lane-wise analysis)
• Conduct benchmarking (Across teams, and vs market rates)
• Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities (rate alignment, truck utilization improvement, routing optimization, movement reduction)
• Develop and implement standard rate cards and governance mechanisms
• Analyze inter-depot transfers and network inefficiencies
• Establish and run monthly freight governance reviews
Expected Outcomes:
• Deliver 5–10% cost advantage vs market
• Establish standardized and controlled freight cost structure
• Drive continuous cost reduction and eliminate inefficiencies
Candidate Profile:
• 7–10 years’ experience in logistics, freight costing, or transportation optimization
• Strong expertise in road transportation (FTL), truck planning, and loading optimization
• Proven experience in truck utilization improvement, route planning, and freight cost analysis
• Hands on understanding of transporter operations, rate negotiation, and lane costing
• Strong analytical capability (Excel mandatory; Power BI preferred)
• Ability to work independently and drive cost reduction initiatives end-to-end
• Strong communication skills: English and Hindi speaking
• Experience in FMCG / Agri / Chemicals / Pharma preferred
