Job Description: Deputy General Manager – Logistics (Operations, Cost, Billing & Compliance)
Department: Supply Chain / Logistics
Location: Noida
Role Objective:
Lead and control end-to-end logistics operations with a strong focus on cost optimization, freight management, billing accuracy, commercial governance, statutory compliance, and financial control of logistics spend across the network.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Logistics Cost Management
- Own logistics P&L, monitor cost per unit/kg/shipment, and drive YoY cost reduction
- Implement route optimization and load utilization improvements
- Negotiate freight contracts and identify cost leakages
2. Freight & Billing Governance
- Validate transporter and 3PL invoices against agreed rate cards and SLAs
- Ensure billing accuracy and drive automated billing reconciliation
- Monitor debit notes, credit notes, and claim settlements
3. Warehouse & Distribution Control
- Monitor warehouse commercial contracts and track cost per dispatch
- Control inventory carrying cost and reduce aging stock impact
4. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure statutory compliance (GST, E-way bills, etc.)
- Maintain audit readiness and monitor adherence to contractual SLAs
- Implement SOPs for billing control and documentation management
5. MIS & Financial Reporting
- Publish monthly logistics cost dashboards
- Drive data-backed decision-making for cost optimization
Key KPIs:
* Logistics cost reduction (X% YoY)
* Billing accuracy > 99%
* Zero audit observations (major)
* Freight cost per unit reduction
* Claim recovery rate improvement
* SLA adherence > 95%
Experience & Skills Required:
* 10–15+ years in logistics operations with strong exposure to cost and commercial control
* Deep understanding of freight rate structures and contract management
* Experience in invoice validation and ERP/WMS billing systems
* Strong financial acumen and coordination with finance teams
* Audit and compliance exposure
* Advanced Excel & AI Tools with data analytics capability
