At Nouryon, our global team takes positive action every day, to reach higher goals collectively and individually. We create innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers to answer society’s needs – today and in the future.
Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job
The Logistics Procurement Analyst acts as Nouryon's Tender Support for global logistics — owning the end-to-end tender lifecycle, managing finalized rates, and driving carrier performance against committed allocations. This role is the connective tissue between the global logistics procurement team, business sales stakeholders, carriers, and operations — ensuring that tender outcomes translate into measurable cost savings, reliable service, and disciplined execution across all transport modes (ocean, road, rail, air).
The role is centered around the following core pillars:
Data Analytics – Serve as the analytical engine of the logistics procurement team by delivering deep-dive spend, route, cost, shipping structure, and process analyses that accelerate decision-making and unlock savings opportunities.
Tender Management – Drive baseline creation, data preparation, scenario analysis, and award execution across global tenders.
Stakeholder Management – Coordinate with global logistics procurement, business sales, operations, and carriers to align forecasts, allocations, and performance.
Carrier Performance – Monitor adherence to nominated volumes, allocations, and service commitments; proactively drive corrective actions.
Process Improvements – Identify and deploy improvements in tender, allocation, and performance-tracking workflows.
System Maintenance – Own rate maintenance, route setup, and allocation data integrity within SAP ECC and SAP TMS.
About The Job (Job Responsibilities):
Data Analytics
- Perform in-depth spend analysis across carriers, lanes, modes, and business units to identify savings opportunities and negotiation levers.
- Conduct route analysis to evaluate lane efficiency, modal alternatives, and consolidation opportunities.
- Drive cost analysis across base freight, surcharges, accessorial, and total landed cost components.
- Execute shipping structure analysis (origin–destination flows, incoterm splits, container utilization, volume seasonality) to uncover structural optimization opportunities.
- Lead process analysis to identify inefficiencies and recommend data-driven improvements across the logistics procurement workflow.
- Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for the global logistics procurement team and senior stakeholders.
Baseline & Data Preparation
- Establish accurate logistics baselines by consolidating and validating shipment data across ocean, road, rail, and air modes.
- Coordinate with the global logistics procurement team to collect, challenge, and refine business forecasts to strengthen tender files.
- Ensure data quality, completeness, and consistency across all tender inputs.
- Tender Execution
- Support the global logistics procurement team throughout the full tender cycle — from RFI/RFQ preparation to award.
- Build quote comparison sheets and scenario analyses upon receipt of carrier feedback, enabling fact-based award decisions.
- Document tender outcomes, awarded lanes, and key commercial terms.
Rate & System Maintenance (SAP ECC / SAP TMS)
- Execute full rate maintenance in SAP TMS post tender award, including route, lane, and surcharge setup.
- Ensure consistency between SAP ECC and SAP TMS for rates, vendor master data, and contract terms.
- Maintain timely and accurate updates to rate cards, validity periods, and contract terms.
- Safeguard master data integrity for carriers, lanes, and allocations.
Allocation & Carrier Performance Management
- Maintain nominated container / volume allocations per carrier, vendor, or supplier post-award.
- Monitor actual performance against nominated allocations and contractual commitments.
- Proactively engage business sales teams and internal stakeholders to drive allocation adherence and corrective actions where gaps exist.
- Prepare periodic performance reports and insights for logistics procurement leadership.
Stakeholder Engagement & Process Improvement
- Act as a key interface between logistics procurement, business sales, operations, and carriers on tender, allocation, and performance topics.
- Identify and implement process improvements across tender, rate maintenance, and allocation workflows.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of analytics, reporting, and decision-support tools.
We believe you bring (Education & Experience):
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Research, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in logistics procurement and logistics procurement analytics, ideally in a tender management capacity.
- Strong understanding of logistics operations across modes (ocean, road, rail, air) combined with a procurement mindset.
- Solid command of Incoterms and a thorough working knowledge of ocean shipping and road transportation operations, including end-to-end process flows, cost structures, and carrier dynamics.
- Proficiency in SAP ECC and SAP TMS, along with hands-on experience using logistics procurement systems (e.g., Ariba, e-sourcing platforms).
- Advanced Excel skills are a must (complex formulas, pivots, scenario modeling, large data sets).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities, with a demonstrated history of analyzing complex logistics data and delivering actionable insights to leadership.
- Power BI proficiency is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging across business sales, procurement, operations, and carrier interfaces.
