About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Logistics Associate to manage two key areas of our shipping operation: international freight shipments and small cross-border parcel shipments.
This role requires someone who is comfortable handling both large freight moves, including ocean and air, as well as smaller international parcels that may get held up in customs. Familiarity with both shipment types is a must.
The right person is an aggressive problem solver who takes initiative, communicates proactively, and is willing to get on the phone with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and government authorities to resolve issues quickly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate ocean and air freight shipments, including quote requests, booking support, shipment tracking, and documentation.
- Manage small international parcel shipments, including customs holds, carrier follow-up, and release issues.
- Prepare and submit required shipping and customs documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, powers of attorney, bills of lading, airway bills, and related paperwork.
- Communicate directly with freight forwarders, customs brokers, couriers, carriers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Compare freight and shipping quotes from multiple providers.
- Track shipments closely and proactively identify delays or missing documentation.
- Follow up persistently until shipments are cleared, released, and delivered.
- Maintain organized shipment records and documentation.
Requirements:
Experience with both freight shipments and small cross-border parcel shipments.
Familiarity with customs clearance processes and import/export documentation.
Experience with ocean freight, air freight, courier shipments, and international parcel carriers.
Strong communication and follow-up skills.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Comfortable calling brokers, carriers, customs contacts, and logistics providers to resolve problems.
Able to manage multiple shipments at once.
Persistent, proactive, and resourceful.
