Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support the day-to-day operations of our accounting team. This role provides hands-on exposure to core accounting functions and is ideal for a student or recent graduate interested in developing foundational accounting skills in a professional environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities

 

Accounting & Financial Support

  • Assist with daily accounting tasks, including data entry and general recordkeeping
  • Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
  • Help reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts

Month-End & Reporting Support

  • Assist with month-end close activities, including preparation and organization of supporting documentation
  • Perform basic research and analysis as needed to support accounting initiatives

Document Management

  • Organize, file, and maintain financial documents and accounting records
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and easily accessible

Administrative Support

  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting team
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and requests as needed

 

Other duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Preferred

  • Coursework in financial accounting or managerial accounting
  • Familiarity with accounting or ERP software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Work Environment:

  • Primarily an office environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift up to 25 lbs. as needed
  • Potential exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, or other environmental factors.

This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
