Load Trail in Sumner is seeking a Safety Compliance Officer to join our Safety Team. The Safety Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines. Their role involves promoting a safe workplace, providing training, and investigating incidents to improve overall safety.
Safety Compliance Officer Responsibilities:
• Maintain compliance with all safety regulations.
• Conduct regular staff meetings to share best practice techniques.
• Standardize health and safety in order to remain consistent.
• Identify hazardous waste and disposing of it correctly.
• Promote safety initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Job related experience is preferred
• Proven experience as safety officer
• In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures
• Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
• Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
• Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
• Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Diligent with great attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
Certificate in occupational health and safety
