Job Overview:
The LME Hedging Specialist will be responsible for analyzing commodity market data, particularly metals traded on the London Metal Exchange (LME), to support pricing and hedging strategies. The role focuses on minimizing risk exposure, optimizing hedge positions, and supporting procurement and trading decisions through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect, validate, and maintain commodity market data from exchanges and brokers
• Monitor metal prices, futures, forward curves, and market trends
• Analyze volatility, demand-supply factors, and global market movements
• Develop hedging models and recommend optimal hedge strategies
• Perform scenario analysis and risk exposure evaluation
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly market and risk reports
• Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, and Trading teams
• Ensure compliance with internal risk management policies
• Improve reporting and analysis through automation tools
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
• 5–8 years of experience in commodity trading or hedging
• Strong understanding of LME and metal markets
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Power Query; VBA preferred)
• Knowledge of Power BI / Tableau
• Programming skills in Python or R (preferred)
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Good English communication skills
