LJB Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented summer intern to support our Marketing team. This internship is modeled after our Client Experience Manager (CXM) role and is designed to provide hands-on exposure to sales operations, market research, CRM data management, and client support within a national engineering firm. The intern will work directly alongside marketing and sales to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
The Marketing Client Experience Intern opportunity is a paid, full-time summer internship (10–12 weeks) in our Dayton, Ohio office. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or a related field.
Pay: $18+ an hour
MARKETING CLIENT EXPERIENCE INTERN MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Research:
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and competitive dynamics in the engineering sector
- Gather and analyze data on client demographics, preferences, and behaviors to support sales strategy
- Assist in preparing reports, summaries, and presentations for the sales team and leadership
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and organize sales collateral
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze sales data to track performance metrics and identify patterns or opportunities
- Support compilation of data for sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports
- Generate insights and recommendations based on data to support sales in decision-making
- Identify cross-selling and growth opportunities across client accounts
CRM & Sales Operations Support:
- Maintain and update client and sales records in HubSpot CRM
- Help stage client activities including scheduling next steps, logging activities, and drafting outreach emails
- Assist in the preparation of sales documents such as proposals, quotes, and introductory materials
- Monitor and help document leads generated by the Business Development team
Client Experience Support:
- Support the sales team in delivering a seamless client experience from initial contact through project handoff
- Collect and summarize client feedback to surface improvement opportunities for sales and delivery teams
- Coordinate and support execution of sales campaigns, events, and conference participation as needed
MARKETING CLIENT EXPERIENCE INTERN ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical mindset with comfort working in spreadsheets and data tools
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; CRM experience (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) a plus.
