POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Facilities Assistant at LJA Business Solutions, you will be responsible for perform a multitude of tasks to ensure that offices are safe, productive, clean, and functional. This position works under the Senior Facilities Coordinator in our Katy, Texas office. This position supports the Facility Coordinator with the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, buildings and other facilities. This role also performs duties to provide support for special events and the general office. In the event the facilities team cannot perform necessary tasks in house, the facilities assistant manages contractors and serves as a liaison between them and LJA.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
- Assist with the facilities function for all offices by fulfilling routine light maintenance work orders such as room set up, moving office equipment, and performing light repairs.
- Assist with scheduling, coordinating, and performing routine maintenance for office buildings.
- Ensure all breakrooms are clean and well maintained.
- Support and help with coordination of planned maintenance programs for a variety of office equipment.
- Maintain conference room functionality and assist with configuration requests and meeting support.
- Provide support for special events which includes preparations, set-up, assistance during events, and clean-up/breakdown.
- Support space planning activities as they relate to new hire set ups, workstation moves, and workstation modifications.
- Assist in carrying out safety and emergency response activities.
- Assist with periodic maintenance inspections of facilities for safety hazards and preventative maintenance needs.
- Maintain records, report on project statuses, and make notes regarding ongoing maintenance work.
- Travel to outlying offices as required from time to time.
- Overtime, weekend, and evening work is required from time to time.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Clean driving record, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to outlying offices (with occasional overnight stays)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, walk, kneel, push/pull, stand for extended periods, and work on ladders
- Professional appearance
- Service-focused approach and strong customer service skills
- Strong communication skills
- Sense of urgency, responsiveness, and awareness of tasks and priorities
