About the Role:
The idle candidate will require a hands-on legal professional responsible for the end-to-end company’s litigation portfolio across Consumer forums, District courts, High courts and tribunals. This role demands s strategic thinker with strong practical knowledge of civil, criminal and labour laws, excellent liaising skills and the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:
1) Litigation management & strategy:
- Handle end-to-end litigation matters including civil, criminal, labour, commercial disputes and arbitration proceedings.
- Develop and implement effective legal strategies for all cases.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings and before various judicial forums as required.
- Maintain and update MIS and litigation tracker for all cases against the company, its senior management and employees.
- Ensure timely filings, affidavits and adherence to all court procedures.
2) Legal drafting & advisory:
- Draft, vet and review a wide range of documents, including complaints, suits, replies, rejoinders, writs, affidavits, contracts and agreements.
- Draft comprehensive replies to legal notices from advocates, law enforcements agencies and statutory/regulatory bodies.
- Conduct in-depth legal research and draft details legal opinions on issues related to ongoing cases and new judgments.
- Develop and maintain legal documentation, templates, guides and checklists.
3) External counsel & coordination:
- Assist in briefing, appointing and coordinating with external counsels.
- Proactively follow up on ongoing cases with advocates and legal officers to monitor progress.
- Liaise with law firms, statutory authorities, regulatory bodies and government departments.
- Coordinate with internal departments(HR, finance, procurement, operations, senior management)
4) Field work & administrative tasks:
- Conduct field work for case preparations, court appearances and liaising with various offices.
- Manage document formalities including possessing practical knowledge of stamping and execution process.
- Utilize strong PR and liaising skills to represent the company’s interests effectively.
Qualification:
- LL.B from a recognized university.
Preferred work experience:
- 2-3 years in litigation.
- Preferable experience from corporate legal department or reputed law firm.
Language Proficiency:
- English, Hindi and Kannada(read and write) other regional languages are added advantage.
