About the Role
As a Litigation Head at Resolve360, you will lead and manage complex litigation and arbitration matters across India, with a primary focus on banking law, loan settlements, recovery harassment, and allied commercial disputes. You will be responsible for strategic planning, supervision, and courtroom advocacy while mentoring a growing team of associates. The role demands ensuring that every legal action strictly adheres to applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, plan, and execute litigation strategies before courts, arbitral tribunals, and other forums across India, both online and offline, including drafting, filing, and arguing matters.
- Drive end-to-end arbitration proceedings nationwide — from appointment of arbitrators to filing statements of claim/defence, conducting evidence, arguments, and enforcing or challenging awards.
- Oversee and review all pleadings, injunctions, notices, replies, contracts, settlement agreements, and compliance documents to ensure accuracy, risk mitigation, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Provide strategic legal advice on loan settlements, restructuring proposals, recovery harassment issues, and regulatory compliance to internal teams and key clients.
- Manage coordination with external counsel and local advocates across jurisdictions, maintaining consistency in legal positions and ensuring timely progress of cases.
- Represent the organization in high-value negotiations with lenders, borrowers, and counterparties; structure and review settlement terms to protect client and company interests.
- Develop and implement robust litigation management systems for matter tracking, documentation standards, and regular reporting to management.
- Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments in banking, insolvency, arbitration, consumer, civil, and criminal laws, translating insights into actionable recommendations for the business.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior lawyers and interns; establish best practices for drafting, client communication, and court/arbitration appearances.
Skills and Qualifications Required
- LL.B. (full-time) from a recognized university.
- Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience in active litigation, with proven appearance and arguing experience before courts, tribunals, and arbitral forums.
- Strong expertise in banking and financial services law, loan settlements, recovery actions, consumer and civil disputes, and enforcement of awards/decrees.
- Exceptional drafting skills (including pleadings, notices, affidavits, contracts, and settlements) and proficiency in legal research tools and MS Office.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage and drive multiple matters across jurisdictions, supervise external counsel, and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of regional languages is an advantage.
Other Preferences
- Prior experience managing pan-India litigation and arbitration portfolios.
- Candidates with proven team leadership or experience heading a litigation/arbitration vertical will be preferred.
- Tech-savvy and comfortable with digital litigation tools and online case management systems.
