About the role

Position Overview: We are seeking an Accounts Assistant with 1-2 years of experience to support our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge of general day-to-day accounting, familiarity with TDS and GST, experience in bank reconciliation (BRS), and an understanding of revenue recognition principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Accounting:
    • Assist in day-to-day accounting activities, including data entry, bookkeeping, and maintaining financial records.
    • Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments, and vouchers.
    • Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and categorized.
  • TDS and GST Compliance:
    • Handle TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) and GST (Goods and Services Tax) related activities, including calculation, deduction, and filing of returns.
    • Stay updated with the latest changes in tax regulations and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Bank Reconciliation (BRS):
    • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and consistency between company records and bank statements.
    • Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Revenue Recognition:
    • Assist in the accurate recognition and recording of revenue in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
    • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all revenue-related entries are accurately recorded.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and schedules.
    • Support the finance team in audits and financial analysis as required.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Provide administrative support to the finance team, including filing, documentation, and correspondence.
    • Assist with other ad-hoc accounting tasks and projects as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting or a related role.
  • Basic knowledge of general day-to-day accounting principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with TDS and GST regulations and compliance.
  • Experience with bank reconciliation (BRS).
  • Understanding of revenue recognition principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
