PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: · Works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Engineers to accomplish the goals and objectives of the department. · Required to remove, disassemble and install machinery and equipment such as presses, pumps, balers, agitators, gear boxes, motors, roller conveyors, vibrating conveyors using hoists, pulleys, dollies, rollers, and trucks. · Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts. · Align machines and equipment, using laser alignment equipment, hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb bobs. · Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools. · Lay out mounting holes, using measuring instruments, and drill holes with power drill. · Replace defective parts of machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts. Level bedplate and establish centerline, using straightedge, levels, and transit. · Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly unit, using hand tools, pneumatic, electric and hydraulic power tools. · Troubleshoots and repair pumps, turbines, compressors and gearboxes per manufacture recommendations. · Coordinates assigned work with other craft groups and the production department as needed. · Complies with all plant safety rules and reports all incidents and events to immediate supervision for corrective action. · Attends all departmental safety meetings and actively supports & participates in safety programs and implementations. · Complies with all Lion Elastomers' plant policies, procedures & practices applicable to the Maintenance Department. · Participates in various company and regulatory training designed to improve plant processes and/or increase unit production. · Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs. · Performs other related duties as assigned. |
