Job Summary
We are looking for a Linux and Oracle Support Engineer to provide application and database support in a production environment. The candidate should have strong Linux administration exposure and working knowledge of Oracle databases. This is a support-focused role and does not require core Oracle DBA administration experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support Linux-based production environments.
- Perform application support activities and troubleshoot production issues.
- Execute routine Oracle database support activities.
- Monitor database jobs, backups, logs, and system health.
- Investigate and resolve incidents, alerts, and service requests.
- Coordinate with development, infrastructure, and database teams for issue resolution.
- Perform basic SQL queries for troubleshooting and data validation.
- Support deployment, patching, and maintenance activities.
- Create and maintain operational documentation and SOPs.
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and incident management processes.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience in Linux/Unix environments.
- Experience in Oracle database support activities.
- Good understanding of SQL queries and database concepts.
- Experience in production support or application support roles.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with incident and change management processes.
Preferred Skills
- Basic shell scripting knowledge.
- Exposure to monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
- Experience supporting banking or financial applications.
- Understanding of Oracle database architecture and database monitoring.
Note
- This is an Oracle Support role and not a core Oracle DBA Administration position.
- Candidates with production support and Linux support backgrounds are highly preferred.
