Role Description

Client Job Title: Linux Server Management

UST Job Title: Linux Server Administrator

As a Linux Server Administrator, you'll ensure the smooth and secure operation for Linux-based servers, including managing system configurations, performing maintenance, monitoring performance, and implementing security measures.

Key Responsibilities

• System Administration:
  
  

Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and security. Expertise in Red Hat/Rocky/Ubuntu is preferred.

Solid understanding on Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), Windows Deployment Services (WDS), Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager(MECM), Storage spaces Direct/HCI and Proof and Experimental Establishment (PXE)

Security Management

• Implement and enforce security policies, monitor system logs for suspicious activity, and address potential vulnerabilities.
  
  

Performance Monitoring And Optimization

Regularly monitor server performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize resource utilization.

Troubleshooting And Problem Resolution

Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, responding to user concerns and escalating problems as needed.

• User Management:
  
  

Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control, adhering to security best practices. Knowledge on Linux Auth with LDAP/AD

Scripting And Automation

Develop and utilize scripts and automation tools to streamline administrative tasks.

Documentation And Knowledge Sharing

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

• Technical Support:
  
  

Provide technical support to users and developers on Linux-related issues.

Network Configuration

Configure and maintain network interfaces, assign IP addresses, and manage DNS settings.
