About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in supporting the real-time data systems of one of the world's leading investment banks. This role requires a professional capable of managing and optimizing complex data infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, and providing expert incident and problem resolution. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the performance, stability, and security of our client's global trading and data services, contributing to the seamless operation of their financial markets infrastructure.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of four years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or production support roles. Demonstrated expertise in Linux system administration is essential, complemented by experience with Windows operating systems. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python is required to automate tasks and enhance operational efficiency. A solid understanding of networking concepts, including multicast, routing, switches, and TCP/IP, is necessary for troubleshooting connectivity issues. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English are mandatory for effective collaboration with global teams. Familiarity with ITIL Foundation principles and best practices in IT service management is highly desirable. Prior experience working within banking, investment, or financial IT environments will be advantageous, providing context for the specific demands of the role.
Responsibilities
- Resolve data quality issues through root cause analysis, managing internal and external vendors to ensure timely resolution of data discrepancies.
- Support on-call duties, incident management, problem resolution, and change management processes to maintain system stability and performance.
- Implement and monitor tools to ensure real-time data accuracy and timeliness, proactively detecting and addressing data issues.
- Collaborate closely with regional and global Market Data Infrastructure teams to share knowledge, improve processes, and deliver high-quality services in market data management.
- Manage Level 2 alerts, including creating and updating resolution procedures, run books, scripts, and ITRS rules to facilitate swift incident response.
- Oversee incident lifecycle management from detection to resolution, minimizing business impact and ensuring operational continuity.
- Coordinate production changes related to the ticker plant, including mandatory updates, software upgrades, and content modifications, ensuring proper checks and validations are performed.
- Participate in release management, event management, user support, and reporting activities to support infrastructure stability and operational excellence.
