Hourly Wage: $13.33About Childcare Worker: Provides flexible and responsive support to classrooms serving children ages 2–5 at the Linn County Child Development Center, ensuring consistent supervision, safety, and assistance during daily routines. Child Care Workers float between classrooms as needed to maintain adult-child ratios and follow guidance from lead classroom staff. Responsibilities include meal service, toileting assistance, behavior support, nap supervision, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Position Duties
- Supervises children in classrooms and on the playground to ensure safety and engagement.
- Floats between classrooms to support staff and maintain appropriate adult-child ratios.
- Assists with meal service, including helping children pass, serve, and pour during family-style dining.
- Provides toileting assistance and diapering in accordance with hygiene and licensing standards.
- Monitors and supports children during nap time and supervises non-napping children as needed.
- Cleans and sanitizes classrooms, materials, and activity areas during and after use.
- Assists lead classroom staff with managing child behaviors, including supporting children experiencing difficulties or injuries.
- Helps transition between activities and cleans up after classroom tasks to support workflow.
- Refers program-related questions from parents to lead teaching staff to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Completes required annual training (e.g., First Aid, CPR, Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting, CACFP Civil Rights, Universal Precautions) and attends in-service sessions as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some paid experience in a licensed childcare setting, childcare food service or other commercial food service is desirable, but not required.
