The Payroll Consultant role acts as a liaison between Links Healthcare Group and skilled nursing facilities. The primary function of this role is to ensure that employees are accurately and timely paid across the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
● Provides training to Facility staff and leadership on payroll policies and procedures.
● Liaises between the facilities, payroll providers and payroll vendors.
● Provides guidance and training on labor laws, including but not limited to, final payment, meal, and rest break
requirements.
● Completes data extracts, audits, and uploads to facilitate the calculation and timely submission of each facility’s
payroll on the required weekly or bi-weekly basis.
● Audits facility payroll data to validate employee information prior to payout, including but not limited to,
salaried staff with hours exceeding 80 in a pay period, active employees without hours, employee pay rate
changes, and changes in employment status.
● Performs reasonableness checks on variances in hours and wages paid with each pay cycle and alerts payroll
and facility leadership to discrepancies prior to submission of payroll.
● Audits facility payrolls for compliance with Federal and State statutes.
● Assists facility and other Links support staff with payroll-based reporting requests for legal, audit, or other
business needs.
● Responds to inquiries from facilities, employees, and internal or external business partners with empathy,
clarity, and a sense of urgency; escalates unknown or critical issues to leadership to resolve problems quickly
and effectively.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
● Proven working experience in payroll in a multi-site setting.
● Excellent organizational and time management skills.
● Strong Problem-solving skills and Ability to multitask.
● Working knowledge of payroll policies and procedures, federal and state statutes pertaining to FLSA.
● Familiarity with CA State wage, termination, meal, and rest break requirements.
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel and Word.
● Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; ability to create effective working relationships
with employees and other departments.
● Commitment to maintain confidentiality with internal Company information or initiatives, individual personnel
changes, personal data, and wage information
Qualifications:
● Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent working experience or equivalent combination of education and
experience. College degree is preferred.
● 2+ years full cycle payroll experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility.
● Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and ADP Workforce Manager strongly preferred.
