We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Link Builder who can prospect, pitch, and secure high-quality backlinks across a range of niches. You will be responsible for executing link acquisition campaigns, managing outreach pipelines, evaluating link opportunities against quality benchmarks, and delivering results that directly impact client rankings.
This is a hands-on execution role with room to grow into strategy as you demonstrate results.
Key Responsibilities
Outreach & Prospecting
- Research and build targeted prospect lists using tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Hunter.io, and Boolean search operators
- Conduct personalised email outreach for guest posts, niche edits, resource links, and digital PR placements
- Manage and optimise outreach sequences using tools like Pitchbox, Mailshake, or similar
- Follow up with prospects strategically to maximise response and placement rates
Link Evaluation & Quality Control
- Evaluate backlink opportunities against key metrics — DR/DA, organic traffic, topical relevance, spam score, and link velocity
- Apply the agency's vetting framework (TRACE: Traffic, Relevance, Authority, Content quality, Editorial standards) before approving placements
- Identify and avoid PBNs, link farms, and low-quality placements that could harm client profiles
Campaign Execution
- Execute link building campaigns across niches including legal, cannabis, SaaS, HVAC, and B2B
- Coordinate with content writers to brief and manage guest post content
- Track all outreach activity, placements, and statuses in the team CRM / tracking sheet
- Ensure timely delivery of link placements as per monthly client commitments
Reporting & Communication
- Maintain accurate records of all outreach activity, placements, and live link verification
- Provide weekly updates to the manager on outreach volume, response rates, and placements secured
- Flag any quality issues or site concerns proactively
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in link building or SEO outreach (agency experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of backlink quality indicators: DR, organic traffic, relevancy, editorial standards
- Proficiency with Ahrefs or SEMrush for competitor backlink analysis and prospecting
- Experience writing personalised, conversion-focused outreach emails
- Working knowledge of outreach tools such as Pitchbox, Mailshake, Lemlist, or Hunter.io
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously without dropping the ball on timelines
- Strong written English communication skills for outreach emails, briefs, and client reporting
- Detail-oriented with a solid eye for link quality vs. link spam
Good to Have
- Experience with white-label link building or managing links for agency clients
- Familiarity with niches like legal SEO, cannabis SEO, or SaaS SEO
- Basic understanding of anchor text strategy and link profile diversification
- Exposure to digital PR tactics: HARO, press releases, journalist outreach
- Experience with Google Sheets / Notion for tracking and reporting
