About the role

The R&D Scientist will be responsible for developing new or improved gas, chemical and equipment applications, and related technologies. This includes a focus on both core and adjacent technologies with relevance for Linde's key industries and applications. Key Responsibilities: • Identify opportunities and scope new research, development and application projects, from concept to prototype and pilots. • Design, plan and execute a range of technical experiments, simulations and testing in order to validate and optimize new materials, components, technologies and processes. • Analyze results, troubleshoot issues, and provide insights to drive continuous improvement. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Product Management, Operations, and Sales/Marketing, to commercialize new technologies. • Ensure all work aligns with and supports the overall strategic technology roadmap. • Follow and implement Linde's robust safety, quality, and environmental practices. Requirements: • PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field, with 2+ years of relevant hands-on R&D experience. • Strong background in one or more of the following areas: polymers, ceramics, metals, composites, thin films, coatings. • Demonstrated ability to design and execute complex experiments, analyze data, and draw meaningful conclusions. • Familiarity with characterization techniques like microscopy, spectroscopy, thermal analysis, etc. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Proficient in the use of common software tools for analysis, modeling, and documentation.
