Program Overview: The Lincoln Center Internship Program is a paid, in-person arts administration internship designed for NYC-based undergraduate and graduate students seeking meaningful, real-world experience in the cultural sector.

This program cultivates the next generation of leaders by offering hands-on work opportunities and access to professionals across the arts and culture field.

As part of this program, the West Project Intern will join the Planning & Design department to support an active design and construction project. This role is ideal for a graduate student interested in urban design, capital project management, and public space development. 

Interns gain access to: 

  • Meaningful in-person work experience in the arts and culture sector, with specific exposure to a major capital improvement process

  • A Conversation Series featuring leaders across Lincoln Center  
  • Access to special events that reflect Lincoln Center’s mission as the world’s leading performing arts center

What you’ll get to do:

  • Tracking project deadlines and milestones
  • Reviewing and organizing design deliverables
  • Supporting documentation, procurement, and approvals workflows
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to construction logistics coordination
  • Assisting with general project and design-related tasks as needed

You'll be a great fit if are:

  • A Master’s-level student in Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, Historic Preservation, or a related field
  • Based in New York City or the Greater NYC area
  • Available 35 hours per week from June toAugust
  • Experienced with:
  • Design development and construction documentation phases
  • Urban planning and environmental review
  • Civic, public realm, or multi-stakeholder projects
  • Familiar with:
    • City government approvals processes, including the Public Design Commission, Environmental Review, and Department of Buildings permitting processes
    • Organized, self-directed, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a professional team setting
    • Strong graphic design skills and advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite(especially InDesign and Illustrator)
    • Familiarity with Bluebeam
    • Experience with AutoCAD is a plus
