Description
General Summary
Under the supervision and direction of Supervisor, Outpatient Services, the Therapist will be responsible to deliver person-centered, self-determined, recovery oriented, trauma-informed, least restrictive, competent behavioral health services to consumers in an outpatient setting.
Essential Functions
- Performs all duties as assigned to ensure the Clinic-Based Services department runs efficiently and effectively. Duties include but are not limited to facilitation of therapy and primary case holder services such as assessment, diagnosis of clinical conditions, treatment plan development and formal review, crisis interventions, referrals, and care coordination with other professionals, liaisons, outside social service agencies, and other organizations.
- Provides clinical and supportive counseling services including individual, group, and family therapy in a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, person-centered, and solution focused manner.
- Facilitates psycho-educational classes and/or groups pertaining to but not limited to parenting skills, independent living skills, anger management, or behavior management.
- Delivers evidenced-based interventions as trained and appropriate to the consumer needs (example: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Attends and completes required trainings to fulfil job responsibilities.
Requirements
Required Education/Certification/Licensure
- Provisional Therapist: Currently enrolled in master’s degree program for Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Psychology and working through internship hours which will be completed within 6 to 12 months. Successful completion of master’s degree program for Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Psychology and actively working on securing licensure through the state of Michigan.
- Therapist I: Master’s degree. Limited License in the state of Michigan. Limited Licensed Masters Social Worker (LLMSW), Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC), Limited Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LLMFT), or Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist (TLLP).
- Therapist II: Master’s degree. Fully Licensed in the state of Michigan. Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP).
- Therapist III: Master’s degree. Fully Licensed in the state of Michigan with a Certification in an evidence-based practice or treatment model such as DBT, or CBT, or TF-CBT, or PMTO, or EMDR.
Preferred Education/Certification/Licensure
- Certification in an evidence-based practice or treatment model such as DBT, or CBT, or TF-CBT, or EMDR, or PMTO.
