Role Description The Life Mitra role is a full-time, on-site position based in Srinagar. The Life Mitra will identify prospective customers, explain SBI Life’s insurance products, and recommend suitable solutions based on individual needs and financial goals. Daily responsibilities include generating leads, meeting clients in person, conducting needs assessments, and assisting customers through the application, documentation, and policy issuance process. The role also involves providing after-sales service, following up on renewals, and addressing customer queries to ensure long-term relationships. The Life Mitra will maintain sales records, achieve assigned targets ethically, and collaborate with branch teams for training, product updates, and marketing activities.
Qualifications
- Strong customer relationship and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and communicate clearly with diverse clients.
- Sales and business development aptitude, including lead generation, negotiation, and goal-oriented execution.
- Basic financial awareness and ability to understand and explain life insurance, savings, and protection concepts in simple terms.
- Comfort with using digital tools and mobile/online platforms for customer onboarding, policy servicing, and reporting.
- Minimum educational qualification: typically a higher secondary school certificate (12th grade) or graduate degree; relevant local regulatory certifications as required by IRDAI are an advantage.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work in the field with minimal supervision while adhering to ethical and compliance standards.
- Prior experience in insurance, banking, or financial services sales is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training is essential.
- Local language proficiency and familiarity with the Srinagar market will be beneficial for client engagement.
